Complaints about insufficiently conducted winter services in municipal residential buildings increased. 'Wiener Wohnen' (community housing in Vienna) reduced the service provider lump sum due to inadequately performed services and will refund it to the tenants.

Fall and injury owing to omittance of snow removal

A Viennese citizen produced photographic evidence, showing the lack of winter service in a residential complex in the 21st district in spite of the heavy snowfall in December 2010. She stated that she had slipped and injured her wrist.

The municipal authority regretted that the commissioned subcontractor had performed the winter service insufficiently. After the problem became known, they stated to have done everything in order to correct the defects and ensure the winter service in the residential complex to be conducted in proper form. In cases of no or insufficient services they would reduce the service provider lump sum and refund it to the tenants.

House and External Maintenance Ltd. appointed, order placed with different company

Owing to the scarce resources of third companies staff of the House and External Maintenance Ltd. of 'Wiener Wohnen' was appointed in order to limit the damage, according to the authorities. Meanwhile, another company was commissioned for the winter service
