Ombudsman Christoph Luisser held consultation sessions in three federal states from 22 to 24 June 2026. The districts he visited included Leoben and Murau (Styria), Feldkirchen and Wolfsberg (Carinthia), and Jennersdorf and Güssing (Burgenland). Under the slogan ‘The Ombudsman helps’, Luisser addressed the concerns and problems of the local population and discussed existing complaints personally with those affected.
As many citizens still prefer to speak in person, yet some of them are unable to travel to Vienna or have no other means of communication, these consultation sessions in the federal states are often the only way for them to get in touch with the Ombudsman’s Office.
“It is particularly important to me to engage in direct dialogue with people in the regions. In many cases, the problems, fears and concerns of the population lie right on their doorstep. Through my consultation days, I try to reach out to the citizens affected and give them a voice that cannot be ignored,” said the Ombudsman.
