Adjusting Colors and Contrast via Browser or System Settings
Our website supports individual adjustment of colors and contrast through your browser or operating system settings. This enables users with visual impairments to choose the display that best suits their needs.
Mozilla Firefox (Windows and macOS)
- Open Firefox and click Firefox in the menu bar (macOS) or the menu button (☰) in the top-right corner (Windows).
- Select Settings.
- Scroll to the section Language and Appearance.
- a) Under Color Management, click Custom, then Manage Colors. (See also: Firefox Support – Contrast Control)
b) Alternativley, enable the setting Use system colors to inherit colors from your operating system.
If high contrast mode is enabled at the system level, Firefox will adjust the page styling accordingly.
Microsoft Edge (Windows and macOS)
- Open Edge and click the menu icon (three dots) in the top-right corner.
- Select Settings > Accessibility.
- Under Page Appearance, choose a color theme (e.g., Dusk, Desert, Black, White).
- Alternatively, Edge also respects the system-wide display settings (e.g., high contrast mode or dark mode) as defined in your operating system.
Safari (macOS)
Safari uses the system-wide display settings of macOS.
- Open System Settings (or System Preferences) via the Apple menu.
- Go to Accessibility > Display.
- Enable options like Increase contrast or Color filters to modify how content is displayed.
Android (e.g., Chrome, Firefox)
Android provides system-wide visual adjustments that affect all browsers.
- Open Settings > Accessibility.
- Enable Color correction or Color inversion under Display.
Additionally, you can install a reader mode app from the Play Store to view websites in a high-contrast, distraction-free layout.
Safari (iOS)
Safari on iOS uses the system-wide accessibility settings.
- Go to Settings > Accessibility > Display & Text Size.
- Enable Color Filters and choose the desired filter.
Alternatively, use Reader Mode in Safari:
- Open a webpage in Safari.
- Tap the "AA" icon in the address bar (top left).
- Select Show Reader View to display a simplified layout with customizable font and background colors.
