As part of international cooperation with state ombudsman institutions in other countries, Ombudsperson Christoph Luisser welcomed his Polish counterparts on 16 June 2026 to the Palais Rottal in Vienna, the headquarters of the Ombudsman’s Office.
Following an opening address and a brief presentation on the historical background of the Ombudsman’s Office and the Palais Rottal, the programme for the visit was outlined.
In addition to professional discussions, the programme included visits to the Rossauer Lände police detention centre and the special institution for the detention of young offenders at Wien-Münnichplatz. The focus of the on-site visit was on the working methods involved in review activities within the framework of preventive human rights monitoring and ex post administrative oversight.
