Ombudswoman Gaby Schwarz receives Uzbek ombudswoman

From 18 to 20 November 2024, the Austrian Ombudsman Board received a delegation from the Uzbek ombudsman institution for a study visit to Vienna.

During the three-day visit, employees of the Uzbek ombudsperson institution were given an insight into the work of the Austrian National Preventive Mechanism in social institutions, in connection with the activities of the police and in police detention centres and prisons. The programme also included talks with representatives of the Federal Ministry of the Interior and the Human Rights Advisory Council as well as a visit to Korneuburg prison.
