Call for applications: Membership of Regional Commission 1 (Tyrol/Vorarlberg)

Since 1 July 2012, the Austrian Ombudsman Board and its commissions for the protection and promotion of human rights have been monitoring state and private institutions in which deprivation or restriction of liberty may occur. In addition, the Ombudsman Board inspects and visits institutions and programmes for people with disabilities.

For this purpose, a total of seven commissions (six regional commissions and one nationwide commission for the execution of sentences and measures) were formed, each with at least six part-time members who provide their professional expertise to the Ombudsman Board during visits and inspections. The commissions are multi-ethnic and multi-disciplinary, taking into account gender parity and the living environment of people with disabilities.

Due to the resignation of a member of Commission 1 (Tyrol/Vorarlberg), a commission member with expertise in the field of psychiatry is now being sought for the remainder of the term of office, i.e. until 30 June 2030. Reappointment is possible.

End of the application period: 28 April 2025
