The annual meeting of the IOI Board provided an opportunity for a three-day exchange with productive sessions that resulted in decisions on projects and services for IOI members in the coming membership year.
New training formats will be offered and updated versions of the IOI Best Practice Papers will be published on the IOI website. The Board also decided to continue the regional subsidy programme in the 2025/2026 membership year. Under this grant programme, IOI members can apply for funding to help implement important and interesting projects related to ombudsman work in the respective countries or regions.
New members from Africa, the Caribbean and Latin America, Europe and North America were welcomed into the IOI family and the Board adopted the IOI Strategic Plan for the period 2024-2028. Presentations from the various committees and working groups updated the Board on the progress of important reform efforts, such as the IOI Statutes and the travel policy for IOI Board Directors, as well as the strengthening of IOI's relations with international organisations aimed at closer cooperation and higher visibility of ombudsman institutions worldwide.
The Board left Rabat confident that the IOI will continue to offer its members a wide range of interesting activities and support in the next membership year.
